Is it normal to be attracted to only one type of crystal? So far I have only an interest in clear quartz and have been using it exclusively. Thank you.

Hi Mike, clear Quartz is the most popular of the crystals. It is the most abundant type of crystal on earth and appeals to the most people, regardless of energy beliefs! It is not at all uncommon that you have a strong affinity with this crystal.
Quartz is the "master healing" crystal, used in all general energy healing. Quartz clusters are used to clean and charge other crystals. Quartz is known to expand our aura energies - if you have ever taken an aura photo in the Kirlian camera and held a piece of Quartz, your aura will be much brighter. Quartz is also very precise in the energy it emits, used in our wrist watches and even to keep Greenwich Mean Time!

Quartz also comes in many different and just as popular varieties like pink Rose Quartz, purple Amethyst, yellow Citrine, green Aventurine...

Good morning...how should I interpet this reaction to some mooklite I have...I have 3 stones and when a hold 2 of them in my left hand (my receiving hand) and the other one in my right hand I get chills type feeling and have to set the stone down...it takes about 2-3 minutes for the feeling to go away...is this a postive reaction or what?

Dear Nola, thanks for your post. I am not sure what Mooklite is, but perhaps you meant the purple variety of Jasper, Mookaite? Regardless, if you're having a strong reaction to any crystal you hold, it definitely means that there is a strong vibrational exchange between your energy and the crystals'. Your aura is lacking in something that the crystal is emitting, so it is definitely a positive sign that you have these crystals with you!

As you probably heard many times, we are attracted to the crystals that we need. Work with these crystals for a few weeks. If it gets too overwhelming at any one time, just put them away until the next day. Make sure to clean them often a well because they are absorbing out any negativity in your aura that you do not want back!

Thats another good point ! Crystals can give and take energies and it is tough to know when to stop; maybe just using certain time limits, going gradual at first like 5 minute sessions once a day, and increase. I remember reading about Selenite on the forehead (I think it was Selenite) for dream enhancement (?); and Selenite can become overwhelming if your not careful; I havnt tried it yet as I am looking for other uses of it first and dont want to mess up the precious crystals I have !

Thats why I was asking about crystal cleansing and rejuvenation; I think I read you can plant them in the ground over night or a few nights to clear them out for re-use; that was also an impression for me to do with my crystals before I use them.

Is there a good website on crystal care?

One more question - what are the best materials to store crystals in ? Velvet, silk? Different materials for different crystals? I want to keep them seperated and covered, and will probly have to make individual boxes for the best ones; they should be immoveable in the box, and a good loose wrap should work. Now I am even thinking thin wire mesh like screening (to keep out electromagnetic waves, somewhat) in a layered wood box, with a first wrap of silk then velvet...ideas !?

In regards to Mr. Zeta's question about storing crystals. A Wood box sounds like a fine idea, as wood is a natural material like crystals are. I usually have my crystals on display where they emit most energies, or in velvet, mesh, or silk pouches. I think your idea sounds great... best wishes in building the little boxes, and do post a photo of the finished product!

I have 12 quartz crystals that are double terminated. I got them from China. They were shaped and are a perfect point. (about 2 1/2 to 3 inches longthe crystals are) I got a couple knicks on the point although they still have points. They were perfect when I got them. By the knicks or chips in them does that ruin the energy in the stone? terry

Mr Zeta: we have a small page on crystal care. It's a basic list of ways you can clean, charge and program crystals, but we don't go into too much details because everyone uses their own intuition in the end, so methods will vary greatly! Personally I like to use a large Quartz cluster in the window, allowing the crystals to absorb both sunlight and moonlight. I also like storing crystals in a box with dry brown rice. Our aura wands come in boxes which you can store with dry brown rice or sea salt, which makes things very easy!

You are right, Selenite should not be used in water or oils if can be avoided so it doesn't dissolve. it's a very fragile but powerful crystal.

Yes, planting them in the earth is also a great method. Again, it depends on your preference and time and what you have available to you! The best way is to experiment until you find the right crystal care method for yourself!

Terry, in regards to your chipped double terminated crystals, this is debatable. It will depend on who you ask as to whether they feel they can use these crystals with the same energy or not. To me, it definitely does distort the energy in same fashion, but not necessarily so bad that you can't use it for healing. The point of having a terminated tip is to focus the energy through one point. If there is a chip, I assume that the focus will not be as direct. Again, it depends on what you are wanting to do with the energies. If you are not looking to direct energy in such a precise matter, I don't think it matters, the crystal will still emit its general positive healing. After all, the natural crystals all have nature-made nicks and inclusions and they are the most powerful stones in the world.

Anyone else have any thought on this?

Thanks Sheila. I didnt now you could put crystals in sunlight/moonlight for charging as such, to accumulate energie(s); that would be another great comparison test for my 'energies' detection from crystals.

It is sounding like the 'cool' earth dissipates energy from the crystal, making it more neutral, which is what I want, like a 'zero' state. Then I could set crystals in sunlight, and make comparison tests (the whole idea is to look for and detect crystal energies).

And thanks for the help on ideas for crystal storage and cleansing. Just think, if there was a way to detect the crystal healing energies, those energies can be multiplied and enhanced (I know that in wands, supposedly different and certain crystal orientations enhance healing energies out of the crystals).

Also maybe when you hold the wand, the HEAT from your hand accelerates these energies as well, which goes along with my theory and understanding of the possibility that the greatest energies travel on the surface of crystals.

And yes different people, different crystals and energies; it does sound like much of this is individual; it's like dowsing too, where some materials work better than others for different people; I guess each person needs to find the best combinations.

I will keep this all in mind; I need to get my crystals cleansed, put in seperate containers etc. ! Thanks for the help!

I've heard from some people that both citrine and kuzanite don't need to be cleansed because they can't hold any negative energ(ies) (or they just disperse it on their own). Is this true, and should I still cleanse them anyways? Thanks!
